About Me

A few things about yours truly.

Name: Anthony.

Age: A biggish number.

Home : Wherever I lay my hat. (Note to self: buy a hat)

As this is a travel blog, it sort of goes without saying that I love to travel. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to see quite a few countries all over this good earth. In 2013/2014, I embarked on a year long trip around the globe with many highlights as you can imagine. These included trekking to Machu Picchu, visiting the Taj Mahal, being at the World Cup in Brazil, climbing sand dunes in Namibia, witnessing the power of Iguassu Falls, diving at the Great Barrier Reef and seeing the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina. My favourite countries are South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, New Zealand and Tanzania. My favourite cities are Cape Town, Rio, Buenos Aires, Rome and New York.

I am a guitar playing, writer/photographer and ex-professional football coach having worked for Fulham and Chelsea despite being a huge Manchester United fan. Love my music and the sounds particularly of Radiohead, The Cure, Nirvana, The Smiths, Foo Fighters, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Clash.

Now I am pursuing a career as a children’s writer and have used my travels, experiences photography and,of course, my wonderful nieces and my little nephew as the basis for my inspiration. Cheesy but true.

Likes: sunshine, good red wine, elephants, being on safari, trekking (when not injuring myself or negotiating too many heights), tattoos, reading, music, Manchester United wins, swimming in the ocean (when not stepping on sea urchins!), peace and quiet.

Dislikes: dark cold winter mornings in England, dark cold winter evenings in England, warm beer, tube journeys, boy bands (too numerous to mention them all), ignorant, rude people, littering and spitting.

This is my blog of my travels around some of Africa’s most fascinating countries. Thanks for staying awake to read my adventures. Might need an extra shot of espresso just to make sure.
